I've rarely seen anyone who had so much fun during a shoot. Whether it was the music selection? If you ask actress @andreaguo_ she would probably say yes. And it's Monday again. Although I'm well aware of how important the captions are to the instagram algorithm, I can’t think of anything creative here. It annoys me more that I should pay attention to this and that things, should only set as many Hastags, post at the appointed time and so on. The platform was at some point intended to share image and not on color aesthetics of the feed or the caption, in which is ideally integrates a so-called call to action. When I look at what contributions are suggested to me, I ask myself: the algorithm should know me better, why do I get displayed only things that do not interest me? Hey everyones. I’m am still alive or rather live again. Despite the summer tenperatures, I caught a cold. And as it is when we men are sick, I felt like the suffering of Christ. Must be on Y chromsom. Anyway, enough of it. Finally I get to post the pictures from my shoot with Lennart. I became aware of him through Instagram. I have rarely experienced such a relaxed, grounded model like him. It was a pleasure to work with him. The only disadvantage of the black and white picture is that you no longer recognize the interesting eye color. It's hard to believe, but in 18 weeks is Christmas again. And if you're wondering how I get that, I came up with no connection whatsoever. Enough of that, back to the actual topic. When I started photography seven years ago, I set the light without meaning and wondered why it didn’t turn out the way I wanted. Of course, I blamed the light shaper for it and didn’t question my own work. It was a 1.50m octabox. Today she is my absolute favorite and I can setup the light without having to think about it. Equipment isn’t to be underestimated, but like any craft, if you know what you do, you can do it with almost any tool. Do you share my opinion? . . . I used the above mentioned octagonal soft box 1,50m ( 4,92”) to the camera right. It was angled to 45 degrees and feathered. So only the very edge of the soft box was above him. Yeah, I'm still alive. I took two weeks off, although I couldn’t get along completely without Instagram. But it did a great job just to focus on me and just do the things I really want. You should do that from time to time and enjoy it and do not think about the great content you can produce from it. Life doesn’t need an Instagram filter and shouldn’t be looked at by the smartphone's viewfinder. Here's another picture from my shoot with Jakob. Wanted something light but not to be pure white, which wouldn’t show the light fall-off that well. . . . Good Morning! After arriving at home two hours late yesterday, it was a very short night. I still can’t believe how outrageous, brazen or cheeky some people are. As I wrote in my last post, I started photography because I like to take pictures of people. That's why outcome of portraits is so high every time I shoot. In tis shooting, I only focused on them. Back to basic. During my move, I realized how much equipment has accumulated over the years. Lamp tripods, light shapers in all sizes and shapes, Reflector Panels. As I sat in my chaos, I wondered: why did I start photography? It was out of the fascination of photographing people. I've never been a tech freak. But anyway I thought at the beginning of my career: if I still have the part of equipment, my pictures are going to be much better. But as so often, you buy without knowing what and why. Due to a lack of equipment I recently had to do a portrait with only a naked bulb, aluminum foil and baking paper and what can I say: even that has led to the desired result. When @jakobluster approached me with a request for new images for his setcard, I panicked. OUTDOOR! Since I've never worked outside of the studio before it was totally new territory for me. Since I didn’t just want to go out on the street to take pictures, I needed some time to think and prepare. I found the quarry near me and I knew I wanted to shoot there. Now I was faced with the problem of the harsh sunlight. If you want to see how I solved the problem, check out my story highlight. In this setup I brightened with a white reflector.
